Jind district is one of the district of Haryana state in northern India. Jind town is the administrative headquarters of the district. It surround by Karnal & Panipat district from east, Kaithal district and Punjab state from north, Fatehabad & Hisar district from west and Rohtak district from south.
Jind was one of the first Sikh Kingdoms.
The district derives its name from its headquarters town Jind that is said to be derived from Jaintapuri.
